Have your ever wondered where the name “Prancing Pony Brewery” has come from?
For the entire year of 2000, Frank and Corinna who run the Pony lived in Ireland. They loved Celtic mythologies and were fascinated by the Burren’s landscape in County Clare.
After returning to Australia and re-watching “The Fellowship of the Ring,” they decided to name their place Prancing Pony. The only pub mentioned in the trilogy is the Prancing Pony Inn in Bree, where Gandalf meets the hobbits. If the name is good enough for a pub in Middle Earth, it’s good enough for a brewery in Adelaide.
World Hobbit Day celebrates Bilbo and Frodo Baggins’ birthdays. We decided it’s time to honour our name with a festive show worthy of the famous ring bearers.
Here’s what to expect on September 22nd: a Middle Earth menu, decorations, soundtrack and movies playing, games, and encouraged costumes.
No need to keep it secret, keep it safe. Tell all your LOTR loving friends & family, help us turn Totness into Middle Earth for a day to celebrate Bilbo & Frodo.
